The Roxy Regional Theatre is a major contributer to the culture of Clarksville society. I have personally spent many evenings being entertained by their talented actors and actresses. The hard work, professionalism, and their dedication to their craft, shines through each show they produce.
They recently finished a run of the musical Bye Bye Birdie. Don’t be too sad though, several great shows are coming soon, including Spoon River Anthology in the otherspace, The Graduate, and a musical version of the Buddy Holly story.
A good way to say thank you to the Roxy for all they do, is to attend each show at least once.
Spoon River Anthology
Members of the Roxy Regional Theatre’s Saturday Drama Workshop will present Spoon River Anthology by Edgar Lee Masters Thursday June 8th through Saturday June 10th in the Otherspace.
THE GRADUATE
THE GRADUATE will certainly heat things up with Leslie Greene returning as Mrs. Robinson. This comedy, based on the hit motion picture will play on Wednesday and Thursday evenings at 7pm and Friday and Saturdays at 8pm June 14 through July 8th
A young Benjamin falls in love with Catherine but first has to get through Mrs. Robinson to walk the aisle. Based on the film by Henry Buck.
Buddy: The Buddy Holly Story
Then put on your blue suede shoes BUDDY: THE BUDDY HOLLY STORY will hit the stage. Starring Jody Evans, of Nashville Star, as Buddy Holly and Phillip Ocampo (last season’s Engineer in Miss Saigon) as Ritchie Valens you?ll want to dance all night! BUDDY will open on July 12 and run through August 26. Wednesday and Thursday at 7pm and Friday and Saturdays at 8pm.
Get ready to rock, rattle and roll when Buddy Holly and the Crickets take to the stage in this international stage hit making its regional premiere at the Roxy. Features such hits as Peggy Sue, All My Love, Go, Johnny, Go, Rave On and many more.
I usually attend opening and closing nights, and during the show’s run on Friday or Saturday nights. I hope to meet many of you there!
