Reverend Martin Luther King Jr.On Saturday July 29, 2006 after many years of battle with the Clarksville City Council the community will finally get to celebrate the naming of a street named after the slain civil rights leader Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

When: Saturday July 29th, 2006 at 9:00am
Where: Will be leaving at 9am from: 

    Mount Olive Baptist Church
    608 Main St
    Clarksville, TN
Admission: Free, Open to everyone who wishes to attend


After George Washington no other American Hero has as many street monuments named after him and the numbers continue to climb. A MOTORCADE will leave from Mount Olive Baptist Church at 608 Main St Clarksville, TN at 9:00 a.m. made up of Community Organizations, Motor Bike Clubs, Youth Clubs, Car Clubs, Brotherhoods, Church Organizations, Fraternal Organizations, Government Officials and Friends and Community Members.

The motorcade will arrive at I-24 @ exit 11 near the BP gas station where a special dedication ceremony and christening will take place with plenty of fanfare and commemorative presentations and awards in honor of this momentous occasion.

RIDE YOUR BIKES – DRIVE YOUR WHEELS – WEAR YOUR COLORS -SPORT YOUR SIGNS – Bring your media equipment and cover this very important event!
