Life and Liberty for those who believe, Religion and Politics Part I.

ReligionsOver the next few weeks, I intend to discuss at length, the extent that certain individuals are going to, in order to blur the clear lines between religion and politics, and those between Church and State.

By their very nature religion and politics are strange bed fellows. In Christianity, when confronted with the issue, Jesus handled it in a simple manner:

And when they were come, they say unto him, Master, we know that thou art true, and carest for no man: for thou regardest not the person of men, but teachest the way of God in truth: Is it lawful to give tribute to Caesar, or not? — Mark 12:14

Shall we give, or shall we not give? But he, knowing their hypocrisy, said unto them, Why tempt ye me? bring me a penny, that I may see. — Mark 12:15

And they brought it. And he saith unto them, Whose is this image and superscription? And they said unto him, Caesar’s. — Mark 12:16

And Jesus answering said unto them, Render to Caesar the things that are Caesar’s, and to God the things that are God’s. And they marveled at him. — Mark 12:17

A simple interpretation gives us this sage and still current advice, Religion should be kept separate from other things, such as politics.

God in his infinite wisom, gave each person the ability to choose to love him or not, these so called “Christians” would take away that choice if we allow them to. Without choice, there can be no love.

The theocratic right seeks to establish dominion, or control over society in the name of God. D. James Kennedy, Pastor of Coral Ridge Ministries, calls on his followers to exercise “godly dominion … over every aspect … of human society.” At a “Reclaiming America for Christ” conference in February, 2005, Kennedy said:

Our job is to reclaim America for Christ, whatever the cost. As the vice regents of God, we are to exercise godly dominion and influence over our neighborhoods, our schools, our government, our literature and arts, our sports arenas, our entertainment media, our news media, our scientific endeavors — in short, over every aspect and institution of human society.

Twenty-five years ago dominionists targeted the Republican Party as the vehicle through which they could advance their agenda. At the same time, a small group of Republican strategists targeted fundamentalist, Pentecostal and charismatic churches to expand the base of the Republican Party. This web site is not about traditional Republicans or conservative Christians. It is about the manipulation of people of a certain faith for political power. It is about the rise of dominionists in the U.S. federal government.

Today’s hard right seeks total dominion. It’s packing the courts and rigging the rules. The target is not the Democrats but democracy itself. – Theocracy Watch

The following video, Life and Liberty for All Who Believe”, is a powerful, 28 minute video documenting the birth of the Moral Majority. This video, produced by People for the American Way in 1982, and provided by Theocracy Watch, shows actual footage of the politicization of what has become the dominionist movement. (edited 2004)

This is not an attack on people of faith, instead it’s targeted at those hypocrites who misuse people’s religious beliefs for political gain. Consider it your introduction to this subject, I will continue your education next week!

Bill, I come from a long line of men in my family who became ministers and have gone on to preach the Christian Gospel. At the age of 16 I completed my four year studies and was ordained a minister By then National Deliverance Temple leader Apostle Arturo Skinner.

This made my mother very happy and proud of me but little did she know that while she and my bloodline of male ministers that threw me a ordained reception that I had no ambitions at all in following this path.

My reasons were based on all the abuse of power I had witness going on around me since I by birth since I was already an exclusive member of this what I like to call Ministers Boys Club.

When I joined the army and left New Jersey I left the title of minister there also, and since then there has been a speedy growth of Black Moral Majority Ministers who’s main objective has been to associate the ministry with propriety, A.K.A Money!

I am so glad that I left when I did because if I had joined this quote unquote “Ministers Boys Club”, I would not be congratulating you on a fine article today, I would probably be condemning your article and your life chose.

Discrimination in any way shape or form toward my fellow brothers and sisters is definitely not the true path to the Lord. Can I Get An AMEN!

This is about the cynical misuse of people’s faith by politicians for political gain. This is about how these politicans mouth their support on the issues while in their heart of hearts they either laugh at them or scorn them. Christians need to stand up and say no more be they Republican or Democrat.
