George W. Bush Comes to Nashville!

Nashville Peace and Justice Coallition

Protest George Bush’s visit to Nashville!

Dear NPJC (Nashville Peace and Justice Coalition) Community,

President George W. Bush is coming to Nashville as an appearance for GOP Senatorial candidate Bob Corker. This $2,100-per-person fundraiser at the Leows Vanderbilt Plaza Hotel will be held on August 30th. The honorary chairs for the event are Senate Majority leader Bill Frist, Sen. Lamar Alexander, and former Senators Howard Baker, Fred, Thompson, and Bill Brock.

Protesters will assemble across the street from the hotel, as the guests arrive between 3:30 and 4:30p, so we hope to greet Bush and his fat cats just as they come in. Those of us who must arrive later can stay for the 5:00p and 6 o’clock news broadcasts, and give a rude welcome to departing guests around 7:00.

Protests to this rich man’s dinner are being held by the Peace Coalition and if you would like to come to the demonstrations, or for more information, please contact : Jane Hussain of the Peace Coalition, janehussain2@aol.com, or (615) 429-4739

Join us!

Several of us are carpooling down to this at around 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Like Christine says, “we are overdue a peaceful rebellion”. Meeting with like minded and participating in an act of such integrity can really bring us up in spirit. The more the merrier!
