Local editor joins Pitkin Review staff

chris-flight-2.JPGClarksville Online editor Christine Anne Piesyk of Clarksville has joined the editorial staff of the Pitkin Review, a semi-annual literary journal published by Goddard College of Plainfield, Vermont. The soft cover journal, which made its debut in 2004, is published each spring and fall.

The Pitkin Review features a mix of poetry, fiction, nonfiction works, literary analysis, art and photography. Editors meet and work online to evaluate submitted manuscripts and produce the journal. Each edition is presented at a fall or spring residencies at both the Vermont and Port Townsend, Washington, campuses.

Ms. Piesyk, a lifelong journalist and editor in print and broadcast media, is a graduate of Goddard College, holding a BA with concentrations in women’s studies, community organizing and writing, and an M.A. in Interdisciplinary Arts. She is currently working on her MFA in Creative Writing. In addition to her editorial contributions to Clarksville Online, she is a member of the FreeThinkers for Peace and Civil Liberties, an Executive Board member of the Montgomery Country Democratic Party and an American Red Cross Volunteer.

Goddard College was established in 1938 as a progressive experiment in education that pushed the boundaries beyond traditional methods of study and encouraged “thinking outside the box.” Goddard developed the model for the first ever low-residency MFA in Creative Writing, which continues as an academically rigorous full time program nurturing individuality and intellectual freedom.
