I am so glad that someone is finally covering this issue the way it should be covered. The Leaf Chronicle always sugarcoats the fact that our homes have been declared blighted. How can we expect an increase in our property values if we are blighted? I am the wife of a soldier. If he gets transferred to another post how can we even sell our home? Who would buy a home in a "blighted" area? Did our city council fail to realize this? I think they just don't care. It is such a shame that while my husband is away defending our country that I have to fight to defend our home. Everyone in Clarksville should be outraged over this ordinance. I know I am. Thank you Clarksville Online for informing the people of this horrible injustice being done to it's residents.

Great informative article. It is encouraging and exciting to see hundreds of people becoming active in their government. But it is discouraging to see the Chronicle did not cover the event; but they have never adequately covered the issue.

I have read about the issue for a over a year, but like most people, never fully understood the ordinanace and its effect. My ignorance was partly due to the lack of good journalism by the Chroncile, and I would suspect by the public outcry I am not the only one person who feels blindsided with this. I attended the meeting Friday with some skepticism, but after listening to others and reading the ordinanace, I feel that teh community should be very concerned about this, even if the Chronicle seems to think this is a dead issue.

Even though I am not effected by THIS ordinance, it is scary that elected officials can in the name of progress blight 1300 acres at once, including our beautiful courthouse, without questioning the necessity of such a broad plan. It won't stop until the citizens are represented in govenrment instead of the "good ol boy's".

Thanks Clarksville Online for getting the local news out to the community. I invite all to write and contribute articles. The site's strength is you, the writer and the reader.
