It never ceases to amaze me how gullible the citizens of Clarksville really are. I agree with many of you that the 1st amendment gives us not only the right, but the responsibility to speak out when we feel our leaders are out of touch with reality. There is an undercurrent of individuals in our city government that believe we are just a bunch of local non-important individuals who have no idea of the possibilities that are associated with the new development plan.

First, the city government already has individuals in place who can carry out the wishes of those who will be seeking to bid on the projects that will be generated by the invisible plan. The areas that will be hardest hit under this new plan is still the areas that has as it prime residents the elderly citizens of the minority community.

Some of you really do not care that they will be uprooted, and forced to vacate properties they worked hard to acquire with the menial wages they earned over their lifetime. I just hope after the city get their properties that they do not stop there. For sure they will be coming our way.

All of you who feel it is not worth your time to get involved because the plan does not consider your community, I ask you to look around. Is there a creek, or stream near your home? If so, you just might be next on the chopping block.

As advocates for the community, we cannot allow the lives of the elderly population be preyed upon by this aggressive legislation. This legislation is flawed and needs to be revamped. One of the main ingredients of this plan is that only those who agree with the plan have any say. Secondly, there is not real plan attached to this piece of legislation. That is one of the main reason many throughout the community do not trust the framers of the document to look out for their best interest.

As for those who look to make a buck off of the backs of our senior citizens misfortunes, I say shame on you.

Have a great day.
