I hope that representatives I elect will do what is best despite party lines.  Honestly, I think it was time for a new speaker in the senate.  Our red/blue &amp; democrat/republican fences are hurting us all.  Politicians regularly talk about working together with those &#039;across the aisle&#039; and being non-partisan. I don&#039;t think it is fair for Senator Kurita to be portrayed as some kind of traitor by some Democrats for crossing party lines.  

More importantly, I think the Democratic party should have worked to gain more seats in the Senate to pass laws to protect those who can least protect themselves -- instead of internally fighting over this seat.</description>
