Legal Aid Society, Executive Director to host reception for departing local attorney

Clarksville Office Managing Attorney Patricia Mock is ending 25 years with Legal Aid Society. The Clarksville community and surrounding area are encouraged to acknowledge her service and help bid farewell!

The Legal Aid Society of Middle Tennessee and the Cumberlands announces the coming departure of Attorney Pat Mock, managing attorney for its Clarksville office.

The Legal Aid Society will host a reception at the Clarksville office on Thursday, August 21, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. to express appreciation for this sterling example of dedication and service.  “We wanted to express our appreciation for Pat for her 25 years of dedication and service to the Legal Aid Society, the Clarksville Office, LAS clients and our community” said Gary Housepian, executive director of The Legal Aid Society.

Ms. Mock is a graduate of the University of Tennessee College of Law.  She began her legal career in private practice in Michigan and joined the Legal Aid Society in 1984.  In 2002, she received the Tennessee Alliance of Legal Services’ B. Riney Green award for promoting collaboration among legal aid programs.  She is a member of the Tennessee Supreme Court’s Advisory Commission on Rules of Practice and Procedures.  Since 1997 she has served as a member of the Hearing Committee of the Tennessee Board of Professional Responsibility.  She is leaving legal aid to serve as a professor at the Thomas Cooley Law School in Lansing, Michigan.

The Clarksville Office serves Montgomery, Houston, Humphreys, Stewart, Cheatham, Robertson, and Dickson counties, as well as the city of Clarksville. Attorney Mock has demonstrated 25 years of dedication and service to the Legal Aid Society, the Clarksville Office, LAS clients and our community.

Past and current clients, and their family members, assisted by the Clarksville Office and community supporters, are encouraged to attend, acknowledge Attorney Mock for her service and wish her success and happiness in her new position.

The Clarksville Office is located at 120 Franklin Street. Anyone wishing to make donations and/or gifts to the Legal Aid in her honor may do so. Any such gestures of support would be much appreciated.

The Legal Aid Society gives free civil legal aid to people who have nowhere else to turn.  It has 30 attorneys in eight offices through Middle and East Tennessee.
