A Christian Cross by any other name (Latin cross, &quot;war memorial&quot;, is still a Christian Cross, and doesn&#039;t represent non-Christians who have served this country.  Debbie is right.  Freedom of religion is part of the Constitution that they were willing to fight and die for.  The military doesn&#039;t require a recruit to be a Christian.  Why is it there?  Wouldn&#039;t Jesus want all veterans to be honored.  Why not have an American FLAG as the centeriece of the memorial.  The military served under the FLAG, not the cross.  It&#039;s terribly hypocritical to have it there, and an example of &quot;Christians gone wild.&quot;</description>

		<description>I&#039;ve met a few wives of soldiers here who have a serious issue with this point.  They want their husband&#039;s religion represented, especially if it&#039;s not Christianity. Freedom of religion is part of the Constitution that they are willing to fight and die for.</description>
