Woman charged with filing false report of auto theft
Victoria Anne Garcia
Victoria Anne Garcia (W/F), 24, of 323 Belaire Dr, Franklin, was arrested Feb. 17 and charged with filing a false police report. She has a $500 bond.
On February 17, at 8:01 p.m. officers responded to a call about a stolen vehicle. The alleged victim, Victoria Garcia, told officers that she spent the night at a friend’s house with several people she did not know. She said when she woke up her keys and cars were missing. According to Garcia, she did not allow anyone to use the car. At that point, officers began looking for the vehicle.
The vehicle was located approximately two hours later on Greenfield Drive. There was a person at Greenfield Drive who said they had driven the vehicle and gave a conflicting story to the one Garcia had told. After further investigation, Garcia eventually admitted to loaning the vehicle to someone in exchange for drugs. She also said it was not the individual at the vehicle’s location. Garcia was taken into custody and booked into Montgomery County Jail.
There were seven officers involved, intermittently, with the investigation and location of this vehicle for approximately two hours, which turned out to be a False Report.
