Police sting nabs 13 on child abuse charges; DCS takes five children
According to Knoll, on March 3, additional charges were taken out against the 13 individuals arrested in the Narcotics Search Warrant at 202 Walnut Street. All 13 individuals were charged with Possession for resale of Schedule II (cocaine). Each person’s bond for that charge is $25,000.
John Davie Scott, listed on the Sex Offender Registry, still has additional charges pending. ORIGINAL POST: Thirteen people were taken into police custody on February 27 and are now charged with five counts each of aggravated child abuse and are being held on $500,000 bonds ($100,000 bond per count, five counts per suspect). On February 27, around 6:22 p.m., the Clarksville Police Department’s Major Crimes Unit and Tactical Team served a Narcotics Search warrant at 202 Walnut Street. When the units entered the residence, there were five children inside in the presence of narcotics being used or distributed, which endangered the children’s welfare due to the environment. This residence was also within 1000 feet of a school. The adults were taken into custody and the Department of Children Services responded and took custody of the children. An undisclosed amount of money and narcotics were seized. The children in the residence ages included a three-week-old infant, two one-year-olds, a two-year-old, and a 14-year-old. Charged in this case are the following:
Brenda Thomas also has an outstanding warrant for driving on a revoked license, which added and additional $10,000 to her bond. James Thomas had a fugitvive warrant from another state and will be held without bond for that warrant. John Davie Scott had a warrant for Capias to Serve which has no bond. There are further charges pending in this case and the investigation is ongoing.
