Youngsters scoop up 10,000 Easter eggs in a matter of minutes

 

Gone in a flash… 10,000 Easter eggs were scooped up in a flash by happy, high energy youngsters Sunday afternoon in the city’s first annual Easter Egg Hunt. The event, held in Heritage Park, took advantage of 70+ temps and warm midday sun, drawing to a close before predicted storms rolled through later in the day.

Across the field, four quadrants were staked out, each one loaded with eggs and “super eggs” — the latter being the prize-winning eggs. Youngsters were categorized by age, with the youngest being offered the first chance at collecting eggs in their designated area. «Read the rest of this article»


Artistic mother and son take awards in DAC

 

Two artists, mother and son, were recognized for their art at the recent DAC Art Walk and 2009 Open Exhibition hosted by US Bank and the APSU Department of Art.

Randall Boen and his mother, Debbie Boen, both brought home awards, with Randall’s being a 1st place award.

The Open Exhibition is an opportunity for all artists over 18 years of age to exhibit and sell their work and help raise money for college art scholarships.  To date thirteen art majors at APSU have received the US Bank Scholarship.  «Read the rest of this article»
