Clarksville Police Department’’s newest Tennessee Law Enforcement Training Academy graduates were presented to the Mayor, City Council, and public attending the April 2nd City Council meeting. On March 13, 2009, the officers completed 10 weeks of rigorous Police Academy training and have begun the “hands on” portion of their training. The officers will spend 14 weeks with departmental field training officers and must successfully complete training before being allowed to go “solo”. During those 14 weeks, they are assessed and evaluated on their ability to interface with citizens, officer safety, completion of paperwork, knowledge, problem solving and many other facets of law enforcement.
