Former Youth Minister Booked in on Multiple ChargesOn June 15, 2009, an investigation was opened by Detective Demone Chestnut based on a DCS referral. Based on his investigation, he was able to determine that Jonathan Tyler Giles, formerly involved as a Pastor Youth Minister at Spring Creek Baptist Church, was alleged to have had sexual contact with a 16 year old female youth ministry member on more than one occasion. Giles had also asked the juvenile to engage in sexual intercourse. Additionally, He sent inappropriate text messages before and after the church services to the 16 year old.
As the investigation continued it was discovered that Giles had asked another juvenile, a 17 year old female, to engage in sexual intercourse and also sent inappropriate text messages to the minor before and after services/activities. Furthermore, Giles is alleged to have touched the breast of a another minor enrolled in the Youth Ministry and sent inappropriate messages before and after the church service/activities to the minor. The investigation revealed that Giles’ inappropriate text messages caused him to resign from his position with the church. Giles was booked into the Montgomery County Jail.
