Aditionally, this sounds like an indictment of ALL insurance companies. Auto, life, home and health insurance companies exist to provide a service AND make a profit. Since when has profit become a "bad" word. People believe they can "guilt" people into believing all companies who strive for profit are evil, which in essence is another step towards socialism. One needs to look no further than countries who already have this to see the problems.

The data regarding the administrative costs is not correct. To put it in a nutshell, the cost for say, premium billing and collection, is an administrative cost that the private sector must pay to stay in business. Medicare doesn't have that worry because it is classified under a different department--the IRS. Don't be fooled, the are 250 million Americans who currently have insurance becuase they deem it important enough to pay for it.
