Mayor Piper stated, “It is a testament to those that are in this city who commit to a project knowing that it’s the best for the city, and that it needs to be done, and that they stayed focused to be able to get it done.”

Knowing what's best for the city? A better way would have been to put it on a referendum, but I guess the Mayor thinks the people are too stupid to "know what's best. No matter how bad he tries to make the marina a "need", it IS a want and will continue to be. By the way, staying focused to be able to get it done requires the taxpayers footing the bill for the next 32 years before it can be considered "done". This is the problem, omnipitent moral busybodies are even more dangerous than the Rober Barons of the past. The Rober Barons cruelty sometimes sleep and there were moments of compassion, but people who torment us for our own good are more dangerous, for they do so at the approval of their own conscience.
