Jammin’ in the AlleyIn what was one of the most successful Jammin’ in the Alley concerts yet, Chris Robertson and the Country Music Band entertained 200+ people at the free monthly concert. Movies at the ParkThe July Movies at the Park was held Saturday July 18th with unseasonably cool weather. Clarksville Online attended the event and captured the following images. To see what was discussed and voted on at the coaches’ meeting on July 12 and other softball information, check out the meeting notes at www.cityofclarksville.com under Athletics. The Summer Adult Softball League just recently wrapped up for the season. Congratulations to Radical Mission for placing first in the Monday Men’s League Tournament and to Hilldale Baptist #2 for taking second place. In the Men’s Wednesday Night League Tournament, LLD/BSAS took first place, and second place went to the Line Drive Team. Congratulations to these guys, and we hope to see everyone again next season.
Concerts in the ParkIt is time again to enjoy Concerts in the Park. If you have not been, this is a great atmosphere to relax, enjoy live music and spend time with friends. This month’s concert features The Red River Breeze. Their music is a unique combination of Celtic and old fiddle music. The concert starts at 6p.m. at McGregor Park. Edelweiss Club will have concessions available for concert goers to purchase during the show.
Downtown Market
If you are looking for fresh fruit or vegetables to make that homemade pie or favorite side dish, this is another great week to stop in. Vendors will have a wide variety of fresh produce. If cooking isn’t your thing, the market will also offer items that have already been prepared. You can find homemade pies, breads, sweet treats and more. The Downtown Market takes place every Saturday from 8a.m. to 1p.m. at 1 Public Square. ![]() Niki Crowe the manager of the New Downtown Market invites you to come and pay them a visit! Riverfest Fish Naming ContestWe are still seeking the public’s help in naming the Riverfest fish. The fish became our official mascot last year at the 2008 Riverfest Celebration, but was never given a name. If you have a suggestion, we would like for you to share it. And if your name is chosen, you win a 2009 Riverfest VIP Package. For a complete list of rules and an entry form, visit us online at www.clarksvilleriverfest.com or call 645-7476. This year’s Riverfest Celebration is set to take place September 11 and 12. Billy Dunlop Park closedBilly Dunlop Park will be closed to the public July 13 through July 25. Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts will be using the park on these days. The park will be open to the public on July 25 at noon. We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.
