APSU Engineering Tech Programs receive accreditation

Austin Peay State University LogoTwo engineering technology degree programs at Austin Peay State University have received accreditation from the Technology Accreditation Commission of the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology.

The Bachelor of Science in engineering technology with a concentration in electronics and the Bachelor of Science in engineering technology with a concentration in manufacturing are accredited by the national organization through Sept. 30, 2015. This accreditation action extends retroactively from Oct. 1, 2007.

Both degree programs are offered through the engineering technology department in the School of Technology and Public Management at the Austin Peay Center @ Fort Campbell. Day and evening courses in both degree programs are open to all APSU students enrolled at either the main campus or Fort Campbell satellite location.

The four-year B.S. degree program in engineering technology prepares graduates for careers transforming concepts into reality through practical applications of technology. This program is closely related for engineers but places greater emphasis on practical aspects and hands-on experiences. Concentrations in manufacturing, electronics and robotics are offered in this program.

For more information about the B.S. programs in engineering technology at APSU, contact Dr. Adel Salama, professor and chair of the engineering technology department, by e-mail at salamaa@apsu.edu or by telephone at (931) 221-1427.
