Tennessee Cattlemen’s Association conference & trade show will be held in Murfreesboro Jan. 21st-23rd

Murfreesboro, Tenn. – The largest cattlemen’s conference and trade show in the state will be held in Murfreesboro, January 21st -23rd at the Embassy Suites Hotel and Conference Center.

The Tennessee Cattlemen’s Association Annual Convention and Tradeshow will feature nationally renowned speakers covering cattle health and wellbeing, price outlook, industry issues as well as cattle marketing and genetics.

One of the highlights of this year’s convention will be the cattle grading demonstration held at Middle Tennessee State University’s Tennessee Livestock Center.

“Tennessee Department of Agriculture graders will be on hand explaining what they are looking for when they grade your cattle and how producers can maximize their profits by producing what buyers want.” said Wendy Lofton, livestock marketing specialist with the Tennessee Department of Agriculture. “This demonstration is a great way for producers to carry information back to their farm that will help their bottom line.” The cattle grading demonstration will be held Thursday January 21st beginning at 3:00 pm. Admission is $10 and includes a steak supper provided by the Middle Tennessee State University Block and Bridle Club.

The conference and trade show will begin Friday at the Embassy Suites. Featuring one of the largest cattle industry trade shows in the Southeast, producers will be able to visit vendors and learn about the latest in cattle health, equipment, structures, feed, marketing and other farm related needs.

Cow Colleges will be offered for participants beginning Friday morning and ending Saturday at noon. “The cow colleges are the best way to keep up with what is happening in our changing industry,” said Steve Scott, a cow calf producer from Giles County and current president of the Tennessee Cattlemen’s Association. “I gain so much information from the vendors as well on what new products are available to make my job raising cattle easier. I also have a lot of fun meeting cattlemen from across the state and running into old friends.”

Pre-registration for the convention and trade show is only $25 and covers entry to the cow colleges, trade show and lunch for both days. Registration at the door is $35.
