TOSHA is planning the 2010 spring seminars35 safety and health seminars to be offered throughout the state
“Our goal is to keep employers and employees safe from as many workplace safety and health hazards as possible,” Sandra Bennett, TOSHA Training Manager. “TOSHA has excellent trainers who know the requirements in TOSHA standards and regulations, and can help you apply them to prevent injuries/illnesses and save lives.” The seminars are open to anyone who is interested in attending. Courses range from half a day to four days, and course fees range from $75 to $525. Classes being offered include Basic Safety, 30-Hour General Industry, and Combustible Dust and Bloodborne Pathogens. The courses will be taught by TOSHA safety and health professionals who will help train employers/employees to avoid potential workplace hazards. “The key to prevention is knowledge, and TOSHA is doing everything they can to provide employees and employers with the knowledge they need to prevent workplace safety and health hazards,” said Labor and Workforce Development Commissioner James Neeley. In 2009, TOSHA conducted 365 training sessions with more than 8,500 attendees. Since the year 2000, TOSHA has had more than 3,500 training sessions with approximately 84,000 attendees.
