APSU Governors LogoAustin Peay State University’s Athletics will celebrate the 2010 Ohio Valley Conference women’s basketball championship when it hosts a “Peay Pairings Party,” beginning 5 p.m., Monday, in the Dunn Center front lobby. This is the second straight season the Lady Govs captured the OVC tourney championship.

The Lady Govs then defeated No. 2 Morehead State in the semifinals and, for the second-straight year, upset No. 1 seed Eastern Illinois in the championship game. Junior Ashley Herring was named the tournament’s Most Valuable Player and was joined on the OVC All-Tournament team by senior Nicole Jamen, who averaged a double-double during the tournament.
