Fort Campbell has called upon City of Clarksville Mayor Johnny Piper and the City’s top in command to assist more than 50 soldiers with the 1st Brigade, 2nd Battalion in learning Government Structure before their deployment to Afghanistan.
Mayor Piper and more than a dozen City Department Heads and staff members will gather at Council Chambers to discuss how to start up and manage a local government. The 2-327 Officers will be working closely with the local governments in Afghanistan, and in some cases helping form new governments altogether in dangerous and sometimes hostile territory. The City will provide key information to prepare and assist in their brave efforts.
The informational meeting will include a visual presentation and a question and answer session.
