APSU Governors LogoAustin Peay State University’s baseball team will close its current 10-game road trip when it meets Lipscomb in a 6:00 pm, Tuesday contest at Dugan Field that will be the team’s final non-conference tilt in 2010.

Austin Peay (24-25) is 2-8 during its current road trip which stretches back to an April 28th contest at Belmont. The Govs return to action after dropping an Ohio Valley Conference series at Southeast Missouri in which they won the opener but lost the final two games.

Lipscomb (18-33) is amidst a four-game homestand which began with an Atlantic Sun series loss to Mercer last week. The outfield duo of Lee and Tyler Wilson, who are brothers, lead Lipscomb’s offense with batting averages of .335 and .333, respectively. Infielder Cory Hale leads the team in both home runs (12) and RBI (49). Lipscomb is batting .300 as a team this season with 56 home runs.

Austin Peay won the season’s first meeting between the two teams by a 4-3 margin, March 24th. The Govs executed a game-winning suicide squeeze in the ninth inning as freshman Reed Harper laid down the bunt and sophomore Michael Blanchard scored the winning run.
