Fort Campbell really knows how to celebrate Independence Day

Fort Campbell’s MWR wrapped up their week long 4th of July Celebration on July 5th, and While many of the 101st Airborne Division’s Soldiers are on deployment in Afghanistan, their families were treated to a celebration that rewarded the sacrifice both they and their loved ones are making.

This year’s festivities include carnival rides and more than 20 games of skill, and of course lots of festive foods, all provided by Belle City Amusements; a series of free concerts all day on July 4th;  and who can forget the amazing 30 minute long fireworks extravaganza that lights up the sky for miles around. The 101st Parachute Demonstration Team also demonstrated their precision.

The July 4th entertainment featured four country acts including the ever lovely Chelsea Field, One Night Rodeo, Dan Varner Band, and Sam Tate. During the fireworks there was a performance by the 101st Airborne Division Band of the 1812 Overture.

This was a great family friendly event, it is open to the public, and I highly recommend you add it to your calendar next year!

Chelsea Field

The Headliner for the evening was Moxy Record’s Chelsea Field. She was promoting her newest single “Things I should have said”
