The Clarksville Jazz Quintet performed at Jazz on the Lawn on Saturday evening. This popular group played the inaugural Jazz on the Lawn Concert at the Beachaven Winery in 1987. The Clarksville Jazz Quintet is made up of area teachers who get together to play jazz for fun and relaxation. The group includes among its members APSU Professor of Percussion David Steinquest on the drums.
Local musical favorite Tina Brown returns for the next Jazz on the Lawn concert on August 7th at 6:30pm. If you go arrive early as the best spots start getting snapped up starting at around 5:00pm. Jazz on the Lawn has become an event with a life of its own. It has grown from a few hundred attendees in 1987, to thousands of picnicking guests! Couples, friends and families come to relax, listen to music and taste wine in a unique outdoor setting.
