Clarksville High School WildcatsClarksville High School administrators today accepted the resignation of Jim Snider as head football coach, effective immediately.  Derek Crass, who has served as an assistant football coach at Clarksville High, will step in as interim coach. The resignation came during an investigation into activities that took place during a July football camp.

The investigation is continuing, but has revealed that some football players were involved in hazing and other inappropriate activities at Camp NaCoMe in Pleasantville, TN.

“We want to ensure that our football players have a successful season. We are committed to sustaining focus on our student athletes and their safety,” said Clarksville High School Principal Phyllis Casebolt.

Crass is a physical education teacher and has been with CMCSS since 1983.  Snider is a science teacher and has been with the district since 1986. He was named assistant football coach in 2000 and became head coach in 2003.
