Lebanon woman arrested on theft charges

Tennessee Bureau of InvestigationNashville, TN – The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation has arrested a Lebanon, TN woman after she was indicted by the Wilson County Grand Jury on multiple counts of theft from a nursing home where she served as bookkeeper for approximately ten years.

Regina Jacobs, 46, 107 Gilbert Valley Drive, Lebanon, TN was indicted on three counts of theft over $60,000, two counts of theft over $10,000 and one count of theft over $1,000. Over a several year period, she stole approximately $425,000 from Quality Care Health Center.

In December of 2008, the center discovered Jacobs had been cashing checks intended to cover patient costs and keeping the money for herself. She was terminated shortly after. An internal investigation and audit revealed approximately 70 patients’ accounts had been affected.

TBI began its investigation into the embezzlement case in May of 2009 at the request of the 15th Judicial District Attorney. Jacobs was booked in to the Wilson County Jail yesterday on $50,000 bond.
