Valparaiso (4-3-2) was a quality opponent, Sunday, in limiting the Lady Govs to only 11 shots. In fact, after the first half, the Crusaders seemed to have control of the match, outshooting Austin Peay 4-3, including two shots on goal. Lady Govs keeper Carley Newman, however, came up with two big stops to keep the match scoreless at the break.

The second half saw Austin Peay come out with an increased intensity. Twice in the first three minutes, Austin Peay pushed the Crusaders defense back, but could only manage a deflected cross.
