Streetlight Replacement Project Gets Underway – Drivers Beware

City of ClarksvilleClarksville, TN – The City of Clarksville has contracted Stones River Electric to replace 360 streetlight fixtures with LED streetlight fixtures as part of a Federal Department of Energy Grant to the city. 

The project is currently scheduled to begin Monday September 27th and be complete by Friday October 15th.  The schedule may be lengthened due to weather or other factors.

Residential areas

  • September 27th-September 30th, Crews will be working the residential streets south of Providence: Power Street, Oak Street, Walnut Street, B Street, A Street, Duncan Street, etc.  They will likely move north of Providence to Chapel Street. 
  • October 4th-October 8th, Crews will work on additional residential streets north of Providence including Peacher’s Mill, Pollard Road, Cave Street and Sinclair Drive. 

The contractor will work during the day on the residential portion of the project.

Major commercial thoroughfare

  • October 11th-October 14th, Work will take place on Providence Blvd. from the Red River bridge to the triangle and up Fort Campbell Blvd. as far as Maple Street.  

Work will be done overnight from 7:00pm-5:00am for the commercial thoroughfare portion of the project. There will be ample traffic flow control, flashing lights and signage. 

  • For maximum safety and convenience, drivers should take an alternate route to avoid this construction zone.
  • Drivers should also anticipate reducing driving speed and traffic delays while in this construction zone.
