White Currahee uncovers weapons cache in Bermal District

CurraheeFort Campbell KY, 101st Airborne DivisionPaktika Province, Afghanistan – Soldiers from Task Force Currahee uncovered a weapons cache during a patrol near Margah Village of Bermal District here September 24th. The dismounted patrol of Company F, 2nd Battalion, 506th Infantry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division out of Combat Outpost Margah, was travelling to meet with local village elders in the Village of Margah when they were alerted to a potential weapons cache.

The location was searched and a cache was found containing an AK-47 rifle with ammunition, 200 rounds of 7.62x54mm ammunition, a Markov pistol with ammunition, several Enfield ammunition rounds, two U.S. Army uniforms with U.S. flags, an Afghan National Army uniform, two ANA and Afghan Border Patrol uniforms, several military vests, one 3-volt battery, a weapon buttstock and a pistol belt holder.

The patrol returned to COP Margah.
