DW Recreation Center October Calendar of Events

Games, Movies, and More at DW Rec. in October

Morale, Welfare and RecreationFort Campbell, KY – On Sunday, October 3rd, at 2:00pm get ready to lay some bones in the Post Wide Domino Tournament at Dale Wayrynen Community Recreation Center. Trophies will be awarded to the top three finishers.

Kick back in the main lounge of DW Rec. and enjoy a movie and free popcorn on Sunday, October 10th starting at 2:00pm. The movie will be a recently released movie that is suitable for most everyone in the Family. Movie title will be announced one week before showing.

Looking for a place to kick back and relax on Columbus Day? DW Rec. Center will be open to serve Soldiers and their Families on Columbus Day, October 11th, from 11:00am until 8:00pm.

Challenge yourself intellectually on October 17th with a chess tournament. Tournament takes place from 2:00pm until finished.  Players must be eligible MWR patrons. Trophies will be awarded to the top three finishers.

On October 24th, come bluff and rely on your partner as DW Rec. offers the Post Wide Spades Tournament where the top three finishers will be awarded trophies. Games will be set and bags will add up starting at 2:00pm.

Enjoy an old fashioned Halloween Carnival at DW Rec. on October 30th, from 3:00pm until 5:00pm. Carnival will include duck pond, bean bag and ring toss, lollipop tree, cupcake/cake walk, fishing booth, balloon darts, tattoos and stickers, costume contest, and more. Inflatables will be available with weather permitting. Enjoy all the carnival favorites of caramel apples, cotton candy, and popcorn available for purchase.

Do you like scary movies? Calling all ghouls and goblins for an afternoon of horror movies on the large screen on October 31st at 2:00pm. Some movies shown may not be suitable for all ages.

DW Rec. is committed to providing Soldiers and Families a quality of life that is commensurate with their service through quality Recreation, Travel and Better Opportunities for Single Soldiers (BOSS) programs and services. The BOSS program is proudly sponsored by USAA! The DW Recreation Center is located at 6145 Desert Storm Ave. All eligible participants under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian who remains present the entire time.
