Spartan Soldiers inspect carpet factory

BastogneFort Campbell KY, 101st Airborne DivisionNangarhar Province, Afghanistan – Task Force Spartan provides security during a quality assessment and quality control inspection of a carpet factory in Chek Nawar Village of La Por District in eastern Afghanistan’s Nangarhar Province September 23rd.

The unit also  inspected a water pump at a newly built carpet factory. The inspection ensured that 90 percent of the project was completed before the Nangarhar Provincial Reconstruction Team paid the contractor.

Historic course at Telich Sun Life Financial/CSU Invite next for Golf Govs

Austin Peay State University GovernorsClarksville, TNAustin Peay State University men’s golf team returns to action at the historic Canterbury Golf Club for the Telich Sun Life Financial/CSU Invitational, in Beachwood, Ohio.

Wright State, ranked No. 67 by Golfweek, highlights the 15-team field, along with Northern Illinois (102), the Govs (128), Oakland (129), Loyola (137) and host Cleveland State (147) round out the top-150 teams. Also in the field is Appalachian State, Cincinnati, IPFW, Malone, North Dakota State, Ohio Wesleyan, Robert Morris, St. Francis, and Youngstown State.

Canterbury is a par-71, 7,012-yard championship course that has played host to all five major golf championships; the PGA Championship, the Senior PGA Championship, the U.S. Open, the Senior U.S. Open and the U.S. Amateur. Clarksville Police Department Awarded Grant to Hire New Officers

 

City of ClarksvilleClarksville, TN – The U.S. Department of Justice announced that Clarksville will receive a grant to hire 12 new police officers.

The Clarksville Police Department was one of 379 law enforcement agencies nationwide to be awarded funding from the office of Community Oriented Policing Services hiring program through the Justice Department.

“This is significant for our police department. Thanks to this grant, we can get more officers on the streets and in our communities so that families and business owners can feel safer.
