Clarksville Parks and RecreationClarksville, TN – The weekly Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department Recreation Report provides Clarksvillians with a glimpse at the activities and events that are available from the Parks and Recreation Department for them to enjoy together as a family.

Clarksville’s Downtown Market

Clarksville Downtown MarketCome down to Public Square this Saturday from 8:00am to 1:00pm for the Clarksville Downtown Market.

The market will feature fresh, locally grown produce, nursery stock, handmade craft items, and other seasonal commodities.

You can also find baked goods, home décor, seasonal flowers and more!

COMING SOON- Youth & Adult Basketball Leagues

Clarksville Parks & Recreation will hold sign-ups for our youth basketball league open to ages 7-17, from October 9th-23rd from 8:00am-4:30pm at the Parks & Recreation main office located at 104 Public Square. Please bring your child’s birth certificate. Practices will begin November 1st and games will begin November 29th.

Sign-ups for adults, ages 18+ basketball league will be held at the Parks & Recreation’s main office located at 104 Public Square from 8:00am-4:30pm from October 8th-18th. Practices will begin October 18 and games will begin November 15th.

Sign-ups for both leagues will also take place October 9th, 16th, and 23rd from noon to 4:00pm at the Mall.

Sleep Under the Stars

Join us for a bonfire, archery, games, ghost stories and much more at our great family camp out, beginning Saturday October 16th at 2:00pm until Sunday, October 17th at 9:00am at Billy Dunlop Park. The cost is $5.00 per person and will include an afternoon and evening of games as well as a hot dog dinner. Breakfast will also be provided.

Do you have more than 4 people in your family? Pay the family rate- just $20.00! Families will need to provide their own tent and sleeping materials. Children must be accompanied by an adult the entire campout. Don’t miss out, pre-register by October 8th, 2010!

Bark in the Park

Bring your 4-legged family members for a day of contest, demonstrations, prizes and more at our Fall Bark Park event.

The event will take place October 16th from 1:00pm-3:00pm at the Bark Park located at Heritage Park.

Kleeman Haunted Mansion

HalloweenCome for a night of fun and frights at the Kleeman Community Center located at 166 Cunningham Lane.

The haunting is October 22nd & 23rd from 7:00pm-10:00pm. Cost is $2.00 for adults (Ages 18 and up) and $1.00 for children (Ages 6-17).

Fright on Franklin

The 2nd Annual Fright on Franklin, presented by City of Clarksville and Planter’s Bank, will once again offer safe trick-or-treating. Local businesses will line Franklin Street and Downtown Clarksville on Saturday, October 30th to pass out candy.

Fright on Franklin activities will begin at 4:00pm with a Costume Contest kicking off at 5:00pm. The Costume Contest is open to all ages. Participants can register before the event at Parks and Recreation or on October 30th, from 4:00pm-4:45pm downtown on Franklin Street.
