Water and Sewer Work scheduled for Greenwood Avenue

Wednesday, October 6th, 2010 and Thursday, October 7th, 2010

Clarksville Gas & Water DepartmentClarksville, TN – Gas and Water construction workers will close both lanes of Greenwood Avenue from Tyler Street to Washington Street and Clark Street from Greenwood Avenue to Emory beginning at 8:00am tomorrow morning until approximately 4:00pm.

The work crew will replace a six-inch sewer main pipe along Greenwood. Work will continue on Thursday, October 7th, from 8:00am to 4:00pm when the crew will close Greenwood Avenue from Clark Street to Stafford Street. Traffic will be detoured to Tyler and to Emory streets.

Water service will be disrupted for residents on a section of Greenwood Avenue from Woodard Street to Daniel Street, Gracey Avenue and Central Avenue on Thursday, October 7th, beginning at 6:00pm to approximately 7:30am Friday morning. Construction crews will be replacing a six-inch water valve at the intersection of Greenwood Avenue and Woodard Street and two six-inch water valves at the intersection of Greenwood Avenue and Daniel Street.

The following streets will be closed to traffic during the valve replacement project:

  • Woodard Street from Greenwood to Richardson Street
  • Gracey Avenue from Woodard to Daniel Street
  • Daniel Street from Greenwood to Wall Street 

Traffic will be detoured accordingly.
