City of Clarksville Rolls Out New Tool To Fight Vandalism

City of ClarksvilleClarksville, TN– LOOK out graffiti vandals. Thanks to the dedication of the Clarksville City Council and Building and Codes department, a new weapon has been developed to put a halt to community vandalism.

It’s a ‘graffiti’ trailer equipped with a ladder, pressure washer, sandblaster, chemicals and several other tools to accomplish the removal. The graffiti trailer will be an effective way of acting quickly to clear a wall or building that has been defaced and in turn preventing vandals from attracting the attention they seek.

The Building and Codes department will launch the trailer on November 1st, 2010. Councilman Geno Grubbs spearheaded this effort. Councilman Grubbs has heard from residents and business owners in his ward who say they have endured the problems and economic strain that graffiti has on this community. Councilman Grubbs introduced the project to the Council, which was adopted unanimously.

For more information, you can call the Building and Codes department at 931-645-7426.
