Parks & Recreation announces winners of the “Art on the Park” contest

Clarksville Parks and RecreationClarksville, TN – The City of Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department is happy to announce the winners of the “Art on the Park” contest. 

The top four winners will receive their framed artwork and the opportunity to paint their design on various walls of the Heritage Park Skatepark.

First place was awarded to Paola Torres of Northeast High School. Torres will receive a $100.00 Wal-Mart gift card.  The second place winner was Nic Hadden of Clarksville High School. Hadden will receive a $50.00 gift card to the Edge of Town Skate Shop.  The third place winner was Christina Bucaro of Kenwood High School who will receive a $50.00 Wal-Mart gift card. Fourth place went to Ginger Slebodnik of Northwest High School who will receive a $25.00 Hobby Lobby gift card.

Painting of the winning murals will begin this Saturday, October 23rd at 9:00am. The project may extend over several days until completion.

The “Art on the Park” contest was open to students in grades 9-12 who submitted artwork on 11” x 17” size poster board.  Mural painting on the Heritage Park Skatepark was sponsored by the City of Clarksville Parks & Recreation Department, Wal-Mart, PPG Porter Paints, Lowe’s/Valspar and Edge of Town Skate Shop.
