Austin Peay State University GovernorsClarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University’s volleyball team closes out a three-match road trip with a visit to Ohio Valley Conference leader Morehead State for a 6:00pm (CT), Tuesday contest at Weatherby Gym.

Austin Peay (18-5, 9-3 OVC) won the previous meeting between the two teams in a thrilling five-set affair, October 15th, in Clarksville. In that victory four Lady Govs reached double-digits in kills, as they finished with 59 team kills and a .236 attack percentage. Austin Peay also forged a 12-3 advantage in service aces with juniors Kayla Grantham and Paige Economos each finishing with three aces.

However, it was the Lady Govs defense that held the fort down, topping the Eagles in digs (101-88) while pushing a tie in blocks (8-8). That effort held Morehead State to a .171 attack percentage, negating its 63-59 advantage in kills.

Morehead State (18-7, 11-1 OVC) has rebounded since losing to Austin Peay 11 days ago, winning each of its three matches – all on the road. The Eagles return to their home gym – where they are 6-1 this season – for the first time since October 9th.

Statistically, Austin Peay and Morehead State are well matched with the duo ranked among the league’s top three in five categories. Morehead State leads the league in kills (13.44 per set) with Austin Peay in second (13.14 per set). The Lady Govs have proven to be the more accurate team, ranking second in attack percentage (.232), but the Eagles are ranked third (.220). Kentucky.
