Austin Peay State University GovernorsClarksville, TN – Meghan Mueller, who recently finished second at the Class 2 Missouri State High School golf championships, has signed a letter of intent to play that sport at Austin Peay State University.

Mueller was a four-year star prep golfer at Columbia (MO) Rock Bridge High School, earning Class 2 (the larger of the two classes) All-State for three straight years. She placed 11th in the state championships as a sophomore and ninth as a junior before moving all the way up to second with rounds of 75-76 at last month’s state championship event in Springfield, MO.

A four-time all-district selection, Mueller was co-medalist at the district once and second-place finisher twice. She was co-medalist at this fall’s sectionals, leading up to the state tournament.

Mueller was the Plantations Junior Golf Tour (PJGT) Player of the Year in 2009 as well as earning the tour’s sportsmanship award.

“Meghan is a great addition to our program, and we are excited to add her talent and ambition to our program,” APSU coach Sara Robson said. “She is a wonderful student and is going to make an impact on our program both on and off the golf course.

“Meghan is an outstanding young lady who will join the rest of our team in working hard in the classroom, and exemplifying the honor and integrity we stand for on the golf course.  Having Meghan join our program is going to help us continue our goal of being one of the best programs in the OVC.”
