Community Centers to Close for Thanksgiving Holiday

The City of Clarksville’s three community centers will be closed November 25th and 26th.

Looking for a job?

We are still accepting applications for certified lifeguards for the Indoor Aquatic Facility which will be coming soon to New Providence Pool.  To fill out an application, please go to our Parks and Recreation main office, located at 102 Public Square. Deadline to apply is November 26th.

Christmas on the Cumberland

The Christmas on the Cumberland Grand Opening Celebration is set for November 23rd at McGregor Park.  Join us at 6:30pm to watch the entire RiverWalk come to life with over one million lights! This popular Christmas on the Cumberland walk-through event will be open through January 3rd.  Event hours are 5:00pm-10:00pm, Sunday through Thursday and 5:00pm-11:00pm on Fridays and Saturdays.  Throughout the event, there will be several weekend opportunities for children and their families to participate in family oriented activities.  Children of all ages are sure to love Christmas on the Cumberland.  For more information, visit www.cityofclarksville.com.

Pool Pass Gift Cards Make the Perfect Gift

With the holidays approaching and the opening of the Indoor Aquatic Center at New Providence nearing, be sure to stuff your stockings this season with a pool pass gift card. Gift cards will be available beginning December 1st at the Parks and Recreation Main Office located at 102 Public Square. For more information, please call 931-645-7476.

 

 

Registration for the Adult Basketball League Has Been Extended

Adults ages 18 and up, now have until Friday, December 10th to sign up for the adult basketball league. Registration can be done at any or our three community centers or at the Parks & Recreation’s main office from 8:00am-4:30pm Cost is $300.00 per team.

 

Downtown for the Holidays Christmas Cookie Bake-Off

It is once again time to gather your favorite recipes and begin preparing for the 2nd Annual Christmas Cookie Bake-off. Bake your favorite holiday treat and submit your entry to Ingredients, located at 100 Strawberry Alley by 5:00pm, December 4th. Entry fee is 5 samples for judging along with 2 dozen treats which will be donated to the Madison Street United Methodist Sunday Dinner Program. Entries will be judged according to taste, presentation, and originality.

 

Register now for the Jingle Bell Jog 5K

As part of our Downtown for the Holidays Celebration, December 4th, the City of Clarksville and R3 has partnered to host the Jingle Bell Jog 5K. Race starts at 3:00pm, with a youth run at 3:45pm. Register now at www.active.com. Deadline to register is December 2nd.

Pictures with Santa

This holiday season, kids can have their pictures taken for FREE with the jolly old man himself, Santa, at two of our community centers. Pictures will be held from 6:00pm-7:00pm, December 13th- Burt Cobb and December 14th- Kleeman.

Indoor Soccer program to be offered soon

Beginning January 15th, the Crow Community Center, located at 211 Richview Road, will offer its eight week indoor soccer program to kids ages 4-12. Cost is $20.00 per child. For more information, please call 931-645-7476.
