A Season to Honor Family Traditions

The City of Clarksville Tennessee's Christmas TreeSetting aside financial and other concerns as the year-end holiday season arrives can make this one of the most pleasant times of year. For a few days – well, at least for a few hours – focusing on the happiness of family and friends allows us to create the kind of deep-seated happiness that few other events can match.

Rather than an arms-extended touchdown moment, this season can offer a quiet, reflective kind of exhilaration. At least, that’s how it seems to me. This time of year allows me to break away, at least briefly, from the repetitive routines that can dominate so much of the year.

It encourages all of us to get closer to those we value most in our emotional universe. Together, it’s a time when we can ponder all of the good things that go on in our lives, and that can have the effect of putting everything in its true perspective.

No matter what form your personal holiday observations take – I realize they tend to evolve as the years go by – whether you’re playing host or taking the role of a guest this year, I hope this year’s holidays provide you with lasting enjoyment.

We in this office wish you enduring happiness as you spend time with your family and friends over the holidays, and may the joys of the season stay with you as you celebrate the New Year.
