Harsh winter weather leads to area schools and businesses closing

Ice & Snow Take It SlowClarksville, TN – The mid-state was on the receiving end of an artic blast bringing with it plummeting temperatures, snow, and ice. 1-3 Inches of accumulation can be expected. There is currently a wind chill advisory from the National Weather Service, as 30mph winds will drop the wind chill into single digits over night.

Roadways are already experiencing freezing with snow and ice rapidly building up despite the best efforts of the Clarksville Street Department and Montgomery County Highway Department to deal with it.

Area schools and businesses are already announcing delays and closings, including Fort Campbell,  Clarksville Academy, Clarksville 1st Nazarene Child Daycare Center, Clarksville Christian School, Clarksville Senior Citizens Center, Clarksville-Montgomery County Public Library, Clarksville-Montgomery County School System, Daymar Institute, and Montgomery County Government.

Fort Campbell

Fort Campbell KY, 101st Airborne DivisionAs of  0001 13 Dec 2010 Fort Campbell is Closed. Only Inclement Weather Personnel should report for work.

BACH

BACH has announced that only mission essential personnel should travel to work at BACH due to the inclement weather. Healthcare workers are essential personnel so we will see patients and continue with surgeries. Of course, the emergency and urgent care centers will remain open as well. Please use your best judgement, if you do not think you should travel just cancel your appointment by calling 270-798-VOID.

Austin Peay State University

Austin Peay State UniversityDue to inclement weather conditions, exams scheduled for 8:00am Monday, December 13th, will be moved to 1:30pm Wednesday, December 15th. All other exams will remain on their original schedule. The campus will remain open and operating on a normal schedule.

Austin Peay State University will open at 10:00am, Monday, December 13,th 2010.

All faculty and staff are to use use their discretion for reporting to work on a normal schedule.

SThe Clarksville Academychool is closed tomorrow, Monday, December 13th. Regular exam schedule Tuesday & faculty breakfast Wednesday at 7.
