Fort Campbell Soldier killed by small arms fire

Fort Campbell KY, 101st Airborne DivisionFort Campbell, KY – A 101st Airborne Division Soldier died December 15th after being struck by small arms fire in Ghazni province, Afghanistan.

Specialist Sean R. Cutsforth, 22, of Radford, VA, was an Infantryman assigned to Charlie Company, 3rd Battalion, 187th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault).

Sean R. CutsforthHe joined the Army in September 2008 and arrived at Fort Campbell in February 2009. Cutsforth’s awards and decorations include: Army Commendation Medal; National Defense Service Medal; Afghanistan Campaign Medal; Global War on Terrorism Service Medal; Army Service Ribbon; Overseas Service Ribbon; North Atlantic Treaty Organization Medal and Combat Infantryman Badge.

Cutsforth is survived by his wife, Ashley L. Cutsforth of Clarksville, Tennessee; mother Vickie L. Cutsforth of Manassas, VA, and father, Robert. H. Cutsforth, of Gainseville, VA.
