Ring in 2011 with Dale Wayrynen Recreation Center

Morale, Welfare and RecreationFort Campbell, KY – Dale Wayrynen Recreation Center (DW Rec.) has a wide range of events to keep you busy during the month of January.

After sleeping in from an evening of fun, bring in the new year with DW Rec. DW Rec. will be open from 11:00am until 8:00pm on January 1st.

Join DW Rec. for an afternoon with a movie and popcorn. Enjoy FREE popcorn as you watch a recently released movie shown on the large screen in the lounge. The featured movie will be Despicable Me. Show time is 2:00pm on January 2nd.

Challenge yourself intellectually on January 9th with a chess tournament. Tournament will take place at 2:00pm. Players must be an eligible MWR patrons. Trophies will be awarded to the top three finishers.

Whoop there it is! Get nothing but net in the NBA 2K11 video game tournament on Sunday, January 16th at 2:00pm. This video game tournament is open to all eligible MWR patrons. Trophies will be awarded to the top three finishers. Anyone under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent while remaining at D.W. Rec.

Come see what special activities the staff has in store for you as the D.W. Rec Center will be open for all your recreational needs on Martin Luther King Jr. Day, January 17th, from 11:00am until 8:00pm.

On January 23rd, DW Rec. invites you to play in the Post Wide Pool Tournament. Tournament is open to all eligible MWR patrons and those playing will vote to play using 8 or 9 ball rules. Trophies will be awarded to the top three finishers.

Exercise those thumbs and get ready for the Madden 11 Tournament on Sunday, January 30th at 2:00pm. This video game tournament is open to all eligible MWR patrons. Trophies will be awarded to the top three finishers.

DW Rec. is committed to providing Soldiers and Families a quality of life that is commensurate with their service through quality Recreation, Travel and Better Opportunities for Single Soldiers (BOSS) programs and services. The BOSS program is proudly sponsored by USAA. The DW Recreation Center is located at 6145 Desert Storm Avenue. All eligible participants under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian who remains present the entire time.
