Cooling equipment replacement at City Hall

City of ClarksvilleClarksville, TN – Some parking spaces along the west side of City Hall are expected to be blocked off on Monday as a heating and cooling contractor sets up to replace cooling equipment atop the building.

Freeman Mechanical will need parking space adjacent to the building and those facing Public Square to allow room for a large crane that will perform the task.

Indications are the work could take three days to complete.

The project is among a number of energy-saving investments in city facilities that was made possible by a $1.1 million Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant received last year.

In addition to lowering energy costs, the upgrade will make the building at 1 Public Square more comfortable during summer months because the outdated equipment that was near the end of its mechanical life could not keep up with the cooling demand at times.
