APSU was “freezin’ for a reason” to support the Salvation Army

Austin Peay State UniversityClarksville, TN – Students and Faculty at Austin Peay State University took the plunge on Tuesday to help those who are unable to help themselves in our community. As part of the University Recreation Department’s Polar Plunge event students were asked to make donations of clothing and other items to help support the local Salvation Army.

The Polar Plunge event involves jumping into the frigid waters 42.2 degree water at the outdoors Foy Center Pool. It wasn’t just the students, APSU President Tim Hall along with other faculity and university staff also took the plunge. Afterwards they dried off and warmed up with hot chocolate in the warming caress of portable propane heaters.
