Clarksville, TN – The Clarksville-Montgomery County School System’s Pre-K program will hold a Pre-K Round Up in March to begin taking applications for the 2011-12 school year.
The Round Up will be held from 4:30pm–6:30pm at each of the 17 schools offering Pre-K.
Designated dates and locations are listed below:
- March 7th — Moore Magnet, Woodlawn, Montgomery Central
- March 8th — Kenwood, Minglewood
- March 9th — Glenellen, West Creek
- March 10th — Norman Smith, Barksdale
- March 14th — Cumberland Heights, Liberty
- March 15th — Hazelwood, Ringgold
- March 16th — Rossview, Northeast
- March 17th — Darden, St. Bethlehem
Pre-K Eligibility Requirements
Child must be 4 years old by September 30th, 2011. Must also meet one of the following requirements:
- Meet free or reduced price lunch income guidelines
- English Language Learners (ELL)
- Speech with IEP (Individualized Education Plan)
- Deployed parent (Please bring a copy of your deployment orders)
Please bring copies of the following documents:
- Official birth certificate
- Social Security card
- Updated immunization record
- Proof of address
- Verification of current income
(Income Tax form 1040A or 1040, Social Security/SSI, TN Care Verification, Veteran’s Benefit Letter, W-2 Form, Unemployment Compensation, Verification of pay by employer, AFDC/ Public Assistance Payment, Child Support, Verification of Families First, or Transitional Families First)
*Military Only LES also required
Selection priority is given to students with the following criteria: low income, English Language Learners, Speech with an IEP, and Deployed Parents, but first priority mandated by the Department of Education, is low income. Others will be considered will be considered if space is available. There are 17 elementary schools with the program, but it is also important for parents to know there are a limited number of 400 available slots.
