Clarksville Parks and RecreationClarksville, TN – The weekly Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department Recreation Report provides Clarksvillians with a glimpse at the activities and events that are available from the Parks and Recreation Department for them to enjoy together as a family.

Outdoor Clarksville

Did you know the Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department has launched a new website? Check it out now- OutdoorClarksville.com. It is the go-to site for all things outdoors in Clarksville and the surrounding areas. Visitors to the site can select a preferred outdoor activity from one of three categories- Land, Water, and Air. Outdoor Clarksville also features a monthly blog, calendar of upcoming events and links to outdoor groups in the area. Clarksville Sports Festival

Clarksville Sports Festival, a two day event celebrating sports and athletics in our local and surrounding communities, is looking for businesses or organizations who would like to participate as a vendor in one of the athletic zones. This event is a great opportunity to showcase your products and/or services to sports enthusiasts, coaches, and parents. Register today by picking up a form at the Parks and Recreation Department located at 102 Public Square or online at www.cityofclarksville.com/parks&rec/athletics/php. All forms must be turned in no later than March 4th. The Early Bird deadline is February 18th.

Volunteers are also needed to ensure a successful festival. We would love for you or your organization to help! Call 931-645-7476 to sign up today.

Spring Leagues Registration Ongoing

You can sign up now at the Parks and Recreation Main office, located at 102 Public Square, for both the Adult Spring Softball and Kickball leagues. All deposits of $100.00 will be due in the office by 4:30pm, February 22nd. Final Fees will be due March 11th. Coaches packets will be available beginning March 22nd for pick up. The season for both leagues will begin March 28th.

Silver Socials

Everyone ages 50 and up, join us at the Kleeman Community Center every 3rd Saturday of the month from 5:00pm to 7:00pm for music, games and refreshments. Next social is scheduled for February 19th. Cost is only $2.00 for a night of fun!

Baseball, Softball & T-ball Youth Recreation Leagues

You can register your child at any of our three community centers or at the Parks and Recreation office February 7th through April 1st for our Youth Baseball Recreation Leagues. Please bring child’s birth certificate. Season will begin June 6th with opening ceremonies to be held June 4th. All games are played at Heritage Park Baseball Fields. League is open to 5 to 12 year olds, with a new league for 13 to 14 year olds. Cost for all leagues is $35.00 per child and includes shirt, hat, and team picture.

New this year for the 3 to 4 year olds, we will be offering “Blastball”.  This fun alternative to traditional t-ball uses a “honking” base to entertain younger players- adding excitement to the game. It concentrates on developing a child’s running, hitting, catching, fielding, and throwing skills.

Archery is back!

Kleeman Community Center will begin offering two archery classes for youth grades 4-12. A beginner class will be held from 4:00pm to 5:00pm and an advanced class will be held from 5:00pm to 6:00pm on Monday nights. The four week session will begin March 7th cost $10.00 per student.
