17 Year Old Juvenile on House Arrest Pulls a Gun on Officers

Clarksville Police DepartmentClarksville, TN – A 17 year old juvenile was charged with three counts of Aggravated Robbery on March 28th. The robbery occurred during a drug transaction which took place March 19th  in the area of the Public Library. The 17 year old pointed a gun at three individuals while another male took items from their pockets.

The 17 year was developed as a suspect and charged for his involvement in the robbery. The juvenile was placed on house arrest. Due to problems while on house arrest a warrant was issued to transport the 17 year old to a juvenile detention facility. 

Detectives Nick Newman,  Mike Ulrey, and Kenny Bradley went to the Stone Mountain residence to pick up the juvenile.   Detective Newman saw the juvenile in the passenger seat of a van outside of the residence. When Detective Newman attempted to take the juvenile into custody, he pulled away, dove, and grabbed a loaded handgun from underneath the driver’s seat.

Detective Newman fought the juvenile and was finally able to wretch the handgun out of his hands. The juvenile continued to fight, at which time, Detective Ulrey and Detective Newman worked together to take the juvenile into custody. The juvenile was transported to a juvenile detention center and will be charged with two counts of Aggravated Assault in addition to the previous Aggravated Robbery charges.
