April Chamber of Commerce Events

Clarksville Area Chamber of CommerceClarksville, TN – The Clarksville Area Chamber of Commerce announces upcoming events during the month of April.

On Tuesday, April 5th,  the Chamber will be hosting a Women In Business event at 11:30am at the Riverview Inn, 50 College Street. Dale Thomas will serve as the Keynote Speaker. Born and raised in rural Mississippi, Dale Thomas pulls from her life history and the choices she made to teach “real life” lessons to each audience. Dale has been teaching for over 17 years and owns and operates a series of Boot Camps. They are workshops that educate and empower others to take their lives to the next level. The Boot Camps are topic specific and have gained national recognition including a documentary series on The Travel Channel entitled, “Cool Summer Camps”. She has been a special guest expert on The Dr. Phil Show, The Big Idea on CNBC, CMT, Vh1 and MTV. Dale is also the author of several books and empowerment CD’s.

The Chamber’s Business After Hours will be held on Thursday, April 14th from 5:00pm to 7:00pm. The event will be hosted by the Clarksville Young Professionals at Public Square. This event is offered at no cost. Taking the Public Square Stage that night at 8:00pm during the Rivers & Spires festival, Mr. Speed will have you singing along to those famed KISS songs such as Calling Dr. Love, Beth and Rock And Roll All Night. Mr. Speed brings their 16 years of KISS cover ability to the stage and ignite the crowd with their energy filled show.

On April 18th-20th the Chamber will be visiting Durham, NC on the Intercity Visit. Join us and experience their unique fine dining, Duke University, booming small business community, the impressive DPAC center, and much more. Cost will be $850.00 per person and that will cover all of your hotel, bus, and meal expenses. We do ask that you book your own flights. Plan to be in Durham on Monday, April 18th by 5:00pm and we will leave Wednesday, April 20th, mid morning. An application can be downloaded on the Chamber’s site.

Also, as a reminder, the Chamber is accepting applications for the 6th Annual Community Commitment Award, which will be presented at the Chamber’s Annual Dinner and Gala, June 14th. Nominees for 2011 should be members of the Clarksville Area Chamber of Commerce, have a commitment to moving Clarksville forward, and support the community through volunteer work and other efforts.
